ALEX Cooper’s husband and business partner Matt Kaplan has been accused of creating a toxic work environment at their company, Unwell Productions.

Alex‘s co-chief executive officer Matt, 42, allegedly “berates” staffers and even regularly leaves them in tears, according to an explosive new report from Bloomberg.

Sources close to Unwell, which was co-founded by Matt and Alex, 31, said that Matt is constantly in conflict with staff members.

According to the outlet, Matt runs most of Unwell’s day-to-day operations while Alex focuses on running her hit podcast Call Her Daddy.

Matt’s close involvement with Unwell has allegedly led to tension within the company – with Matt earning a reputation for yelling at staff.

The issues have reportedly grown so serious, employees have threatened to walk off the job at shows and live tours if Matt doesn’t stay away.

After logistical issues meant that Love Island USA star Kendall Washington wasn’t able to compete on Alex’s new YouTube show Unwell Winter Games, Matt “berated” production staff, according to sources.

He “threatened to prevent them from ever working in Hollywood again,” resulting in a crew member breaking down in tears, the outlet reported.

Staff members allegedly filed formal complaints and told leadership they would quit if Matt didn’t change his behavior.

Some of the alleged friction was documented in Alex’s 2025 Hulu series Call Her Alex, which captured the run-up to the podcaster’s first live tour.

After the production manager threatened to quit on-camera, Matt claimed the situation was merely related to a demanding work schedule.

But according to a person with knowledge of the conflict, the manager’s issue was with Matt “disrespecting” the crew by “yelling and swearing” at them.

The alleged conflict isn’t just confined to production crew and staff – Unwell’s executive-level positions have notably experienced high turnover.

The head of marketing, head of network, and chief growth officer have all left in the past year.

Call Her Daddy was co-created in 2018 by Alex and ex-friend Sofia Franklyn, but Sofia left the show in 2020.

In 2025, as part of a deal with SiriusXM, Alex launched three new programs for a satellite radio station, but they all folded.

The same year, Unwell also parted ways with Alex’s former friend Alix Earle – whose podcast Hot Mess was one of Alex’s most popular additions to her growing media portfolio.

A reason wasn’t given at the time for the split, but Alix recently hinted at serious drama between the two.

Alex accused the influencer of creating “fake drama” after Alix reposted a video calling Alex an “ambulance chaser” due to her emotional podcast interviews.

Alix responded “Okay on it” – but fans are still waiting on a follow-up.

Alex’s spokesperson did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
